SUVA outlasts Under-23 vball men

Southern United Volleyball Academy got a much needed victory in the 2018 T&T Volleyball Federation Men’s Premier Division Indoor League in five sets over the T&T Under-23s at the Maloney Indoor Sports Arena, Maloney on Sunday.

SUVA prevailed 22-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 18-16 in a match that lasted two hours and 12 minutes against the Under-23s who are using the tournament as preparations for the Junior Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Championship carded for Suriname at the end of this month.

On Saturday, matches will continue at the Jean Pierre Complex in Mucurapo with Glamorgan men and women, both top of their respective tables, both in action.

Currently, Glamorgan leads the six-teams men’s round-robin table with a 4-0 record and 18 points, three more than SEPoS (3-1) while SUVA with the win ended its series with a 3-2 record and 12 points.

T&T Under-23 men are fourth with a 2-2 mark and nine points followed by Technocrats (0-4), and Toco Volleyball Youth Academy (0-3), both without a point.

Among the women, West Side Stars having completed its two rounds of matches leads with 20 points from a 4-1 record ahead of their final round match with defending champions and current second placed Glamorgan which has won all four of its matches for 18 points.

Big SEPoS is third with seven points at 1-4 while Technocrats are winless, 0-4.
