Takeoneforjoey set for ‘Black Friday’ win
Champion trainer John O’Brien can continue his good form today when the Arima Race Club’s (ARC) present its ‘Black Friday’ eight-race programme at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.
In what looks a very competitive event, O’Brien attacks the ARC Day 31 feature event with a two-pronged attack with Takeoneforjoey and Magical Victory. I am convinced that one of the O’Brien runners will take the top prize, as both are talented enough to so do.
Of the nine horses in the feature Modified Benchmark Handicap for Horses Rated 80-60 over 1350 metres event, I will go for Takeoneforjoey, which will be ridden by Nobel Abrego.
This horse has been campaigning with success this season and though he takes along 58 kilos his inside berth will give a good opportunity to attack early. He will be difficult to peg back today, though his stablemate Magical Victory is a classy sort.
Kerron Khelawan will be astride Magical Victory which will tote the top-weight 58.5 kilos. But, I remember the old racing adage ‘Weight don’t stop class.’ The O’Brien duo will be the ones to beat in this event.
The Bobby Persad trained Peace N Glory must be respected with Rico Hernandez astride. Glenn Mendez send out his faithful servant Dark Treasure and this horse must be respected with Wilmer Galviz in the saddle. However, I think he wil ned a run to gt back to concert pitch. I will expected a bold show from Holy Man today as he could have an uncontested lead.
Post time for the first event is today is 12:45pm.
