Man arrested with loaded gun in bar
Police arrested a 23-year-old man of Brazil Village, Arima, on Monday after they searched several people at a bar in the Eastern Borough.
The suspect, identified as Alex Hollingsworth, of Talparo Main Road, was expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate yesterday.
Officers conducted the raid at the bar during an exercise, which took place between 9 pm and midnight on Monday.
The operation was spearheaded by Insp Roger Joseph and included a party of officers from the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit, Northern Division Task Force East and Arima Crime Patrol.
A silver and brown Taurus revolver, loaded with two rounds of .38mm ammunition, were seized.
Hollingsworth was charged by PC Joel Kerr, of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department.
