Victim was not gang member
Relatives of one of the six men murdered on New Year’s Day said he was not affiliated with any criminal gang in the Enterprise, Chaguanas area.
Shortly after midnight on Monday, Brandon Khan, 25, was liming with friends at Goodwill Street two gunmen opened fire on the group. Khan and five others, including his three-week pregnant wife identified only as Jade, were shot. Khan died while undergoing treatment at the Chaguanas Health Facility.
Speaking with the media at the Forensic Science Centre, St James yesterday, Khan’s uncle, Jameel Khan, said his nephew, fondly called “Chinee” was a loner.
He said his nephew, who was unemployed, never liked socialising and was only at the street corner because the woman who operates the parlour was having a community lime attended by everyone for years.
