Caring teachers at Latapy Secondary
I am happy to see some teachers at Russell Latapy Secondary School are dedicating their time this vacation to help students who will start their secondary education there in September.
The students wrote the SEA exam and scored below 30 per cent and were placed at the school.
The principal and teachers involved in these remedial classes must be congratulated for showing such great love and care for their profession and the students in the community. This may be seen as a small act, but it is very significant and helpful for these students who need this kind of support to prepare them for the next level.
We all know about the crime situation in these communities and how this is affecting the teachers and students at these schools. The free remedial classes are very good and these students who live in the
Laventille/Morvant community will benefit greatly. I was very happy to see Minister Garcia personally paying a visit to the school last week to talk with the students and teachers in the classroom.
