Remove rest of PSC now

Tuesday, June 12, 2018

I am calling on the President and Prime Minister to revoke, immediately, the appointments of the present members of the Police Service Commission that so unashamedly bungled the selection of a Commissioner of Police, and set us back in a process that should have been completed years ago. Start the ‘consequences programme’ now.

They have obviously shown a disturbing demonstration of incompetence, and/or corruption in a simple exercise of assessing details on the candidates. Perhaps, ulterior motives guided their actions. They violated their oath of office.

Let us lift T&T out of the morass into which the country has found itself, and I dare say that it is high officials, as the members of the commission are, that have failed us and led us there. We must clean the stables now, otherwise we will continue to languish in decadence, backwardness and ultimate self-destruction.

The commission abused its authority and completely ignored the legitimate procedure. No more ‘slaps on the wrist.’ and moving on, ‘unchastised.’ if we are to improve as a nation. They must be removed ‘yesterday.’
