PoS should be more like Sando
A Boxing Day drive along the Solomon Hochoy Highway was so absolutely lovely, the rolling hills and, maybe, dales, so verdant and well-kept. Arriving in San Fernando was amazing.
Such a mesmerising experience, scenic, almost like another part of the world, our visit to San Fernando and its environs.
The powers that be in that area must be disciplined, organised and have exceedingly great management skills. Unlike “up north”.
The massive structures, of which some are beautiful works of architecture, are situated on vast parcels of land. Houses are built on wide spaces, maybe, possibly not all around, though.
However, is it not heartbreaking to pass by the Children’s Hospital especially, then the Brian Lara Cricket Academy and observe their lack of use?
Why are past and present governing bodies apparently unconcerned about utilisation of same? There must be a way to take advantage, and make full use of these facilities. One ponders and wonders.
Why are our children and youth being subjected to third world treatment? Why are they being penalised? Is it not really and truly heart-breaking? Are we that callous and hard hearted?
Why are we so underdeveloped and third world in our mindset? We are not a forward thinking people, yet we have private developers groping after land for their gain on both islands and they are apparently blossoming. So, can any government work in tandem with one or many private developers?
Obviously not. Too many years of no action, getting our population deeper into despair, a virtual quagmire, an abyss.
Who is really minding the store? Heartbreaking indeed!
San Fernando will possibly be the next capital of Trinidad; Port-of-Spain cannot seem to compare.
Potholes on Tragarete Road in abundance; the park on St Clair Avenue sooo sad. I wonder why...
